Coaching for Upcoming Life Changes

Some the most significant life events are also some of the least planned for events. Whether changing jobs, switching professions, retiring, expecting an addition to the family, or starting over – these are some of the largest changes that we tend to make in our lives, and some are more able to be anticipated and planned for than others. But often what we encounter in clients is a desire to really look at our options to see what is the best fit for their future – to help them decide what the right path is for their unique situation.

We’ve helped highly successful professionals who had climbed the corporate ladder for 30 years suddenly look around and say, “Nope – this is no longer for me. I used to be satisfied with this, but I’m not anymore. What should I do now?” Helping someone look at their options and decide on an exciting new journey is rewarding for us. If you are considering a significant life change, some coaching as you make your choices might be just the thing to help you along the journey. If you are considering a change, but not sure what to do, or how to do it – let us help. We enjoy working with motivated individuals who want to chart a new path for themselves.

So how do you we work with coaching clients? Some aspects of the coaching process would likely include:

  • Personality testing
  • Detailed history of what they would like to achieve and what they do and do not enjoy in their current path
  • Development of goals that the client wants to achieve
  • Milestones to chart progress
  • Problem-solving challenges in a healthy way

What are some of the situations that we have worked with coaching clients on in this area? Really – the sky is the limit here! This type of coaching can be used for almost any significant change where the client is looking to solidify a new direction or goal in a personal path. Now, keep in mind, coaching is not therapy – but coaching is ideal if you are planning to problem solve and plan to avoid difficulties. Therapy is often used when an unhealthy pattern has already developed. See more about the differences here.
